A Karatsu Ash-glaze Classic
This Chawan is a beautiful ash glaze Karatsu chawan made by ceramic artist Sawada Shusetsu. Shusetsu was trained under the prominent Karatsu master Suzuki Hachiro (1914-2005), who was named as the Important Intangible Cultural Asset for Ash Glaze in 2003. This is a wonderful tea bowl to appreciate the spirit of the tea ceremony: simplicity and tranquillity.
